Lēoht (pronounced “lay-oht,” from the Old English word for “light”) is formed of a sandcast pewter shade and a painted aluminium base. The shade is cast by the user themselves, who then refines it and arranges it to suit their needs. By taking part in the process directly, the user gains a clear and hands-on understanding of the choices, materials and effort that shape everyday objects.
